Kaneshin Large Bonsai Branch Cutter - Straight Blade

Kaneshin Cutlery Mfg (Japan) is a family owned business that have been making superior quality cuttlery and tools since 1919. Still family owned and operated these super high quality bonsai tools are hand made by time served craftsmen in small numbers using the very highest quality Yasuki-Hagane steels carefully selected to give the best performance depending upon the tools use.

Kaneshin are known around the world for making the best quality bonsai pruning and cutting tools. For the price nothing else comes close. Every tool is a consumate work of art and every detail has been refined over decades to ensure exemplary performance and a lifetime of service.

Kaneshin bonsai tools are available in many patterns and combinations of steel. This is to ensure best performance but it's important, as with all tools, to select the correct tool for the job and use it appropriately to avoid damage or poor performance.

The model 3S is a large stright bladed branch cutter expertly crafted from exceptional SK steel. Branch cutters of this type leave a flat finished cut.? A beautifully finished tool with incurved handles that make them very comfortable in the hand. With care these branch cutters will last a lifetime. Don't let the low price fool you, Kaneshin don't make anything except outstanding bonsai tools!

When cutting with this type of tool it's important to remember that larger material must be cut in the back of the blade. Putting excess pressure on the fine tips of the blades can result in damage. The angled head provides convenient access in most situations.

Use for trimming all branches, twigs and roots (cleaned) (maximum 12mm in the middle/back of the blade) on all bonsai trees. Smaller more accurate cuts are best done with the front of the blade. Where wood is dry and hard maximum cut size should be reduced or best attempted with multiple smaller cuts or 'nibbles'. Excess force will damage or break any branch cutter.

The cutting blades of branch cutters overlap very slightly giving a scissor action when cutting. This ensures a long blade life and reduces the need for regular sharpening.

205mm overall length. 25mm straight blade length. Maximum cut is half the blade length when the cut is performed in the middle or back part of the blade.

Supplied in a printed presentation box as shown.

SK steel will rust if not cared for appropriately. Always give a wipe over with Camellia Oil after use. Always ensure the tools pivot is oiled prior to use, this will ensure decades of exempary performance and prevent wear.
