JAPANESE KANUMA BONSAI SOIL. GRADED PRODUCT WITH LESS DUST.
This remarkable volcanic growing medium is used in Japan for growing satsuki azaleas whose fine roots penetrate the grains in search of moisture. Great for use with any Bonsai that like a slightly wetter soil. pH is 5.5, perfect for acid-loving ericaceous plants.
Chinese elm, willow, stewartia, larch, alder, communis junipers, privet, ericas, azaleas, camellia and many others.
If your broadleaf Bonsai suffer from leaf scorch (desiccation) associated with drying out of the soil in summer then add 10-20% Kanuma to your soil mix next time!
As light as popcorn, warm and with a phenomenal moisture-holding capacity.
Be aware Kanuma is soft and you may not end up with the full advertised volume due to settlement and abrasion in transit.
Kanuma is a naturally occurring product. The colour of this material will vary depending upon the deposits being mined and also the moisture content. Pictures are for illustration and represent what the product typically looks like.
*2-8mm mesh graded to produce an approximate particle size close to this range.
