Keto-Tsuchi - Peat Muck - Kokedama Bonsai Soil - 1Kg
Keto Tsuchi (pronounced 'soochi') is the magic ingredient when creating Kokedama and bonsai rock and slab plantings.
Our keto is produced exclusively by us from sustainable UK sourced materials including post consumer green waste. Matured over many months to produce a clean, weed and pest free, sterile colloidal paste rich in humates that's almost entirely odour free. Our Keto is an easily workable very heavy paste with a nice uniform consistency that binds together incredibly well right out of the bag. We do not recommend mixing it with other materials as is often done with Japanese keto.

Often called peat clay or peat muck. This unique product is neither peat or clay. Traditionally Keto comes from rotting vegetation lying deep in waterlogged ground, typically, in Japan, rice paddies. The material has soft clay like qualities but unlike clay will not cause water to puddle and is quickly colonised by roots. Import restrictions mean it is no longer viable or particularly ethical to import Japanese Keto into the UK
Use when constructing plantings on slabs or rocks. Use to build a retaining wall to contain standard growing medium and create landscape profiles prior to the application of moss covering. In time the trees roots will grow into the Keto and moss and bind everything together.
1Kg (Approx' 7" ball) which is enough for a small landscape planting as featured in our slide show.
Always wear gloves when handling, keto can stain your skin. Store tightly sealed in plastic in a cool place and keto will keep indefinitely. Keep away from children and do not eat Etc'.
